Sunday School Program

Founded by the Islamic Services Foundation which has over 35 years of experience in educating young children at all levels, The BHA Sunday School program is committed to the teaching of the Islamic Beliefs, Arabic Language, Quran Recitation, Memorization and Translation. Through sharing the stories of the Prophets and their companions we hope to instill a love of Islam in our students and teach them the fundamentals of worship to strengthen their connection with Allah and their faith.

A Typical Day at Sunday School

9:45 am Drop Off

10:00am Classes Start

11:45am Lunch

12:30pm Gym/Fitness*

1:15pm Classes Resume

2:00pm Prayer

2:30pm Dismissal

*Gym time and class times are interchangeable depending on age of students

Objectives and Goals of BHA Sunday School

  1. Qur’anic Studies:
    • Arabic alphabets learning prior reading the Qur’an (the student will learn the Arabic alphabets with it’s sounds, spelling, connecting letters, reading words and sentences).
    • Reading, Understanding and Application of selected ayat from the Qur’an.
    • Studying selected Surahs with emphasis on understanding.
  2. Islamic Studies:
    • Five Pillars of Islam
    • Six Pillars of Faith
    • Salah
    • Adhan
    • Seerah of prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
    • Prophets stories
    • Sahabas’ stories
    • Akhlaq and Addab/Morals and Manners
    • Hands on projects, where the students can apply creative and critical thinking.
  3. Arabic
    • Level 1: Recognize and write Arabic Alphabets.
    • Level 2: Basic Arabic 1
    • Level 3: Basic Arabic 2
    • Level 4: Grammar
